ld time Oriental (or Persian) rugs are always a desired piece of accessories in any home. With them a mysterious mood of old east can be achieved. Such rugs are usually hade-made which makes them unique and expensive. So hand-made oriental rugs became a synonym of wealth and luxury. One special kind of oriental rugs is Tibetan rugs.

Tibetan rugs are made in high mountain region of Tibet - it is situated in south west of China and the climate there is very tough so people had to protect themselves from the bed weather conditions. Tibetan rugs are a good example of such coverings. They are made of wool.

Among all the other types of oriental rugs Tibetan rugs stand apart by their intense colors. Commonly use tone of colors of Tibetan rugs are black, blue, red and orange. They are always very bright.

Designs of Tibetan rugs are different but as long as Tibet is a very religious region the religion motifs are most common.

They are medallion and simple geometric forms. But the motif of nature and some pictorial designs can be also found in Tibetan rugs. Religion motifs are pictured on smaller Tibetan rugs intended to be used in monasteries for different ceremonies and the wild nature and man vs. animal designs are picture on the bigger Tibetan rugs intended to be used as coverings.

Nowadays Tibetan rugs don't have their religion manning, they are mostly the piece of the decor in modern life. But they are made of a strong material so they are durable. That makes Tibetan rugs also very practical.
